Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) | ||||||||||||||||||
The Corporate
Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) is the central opt out register
whereby corporate subscribers can register their wish not to receive unsolicited
sales and marketing telephone calls to either all their organisation's
telephone numbers, or to certain numbers. It is a legal requirement that
companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the CTPS.
It takes 28 days for the CTPS registration to become fully effective. For information on the Regulations which dictate this new legal requirement please visit Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 at www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2004/20041039.htm. For more information about the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS), click here or use the contact details at the bottom of this page. |

When Purchasing or Renting Mailing Lists, Remember... It is unlawful for someone in business (including charities or other voluntary organisations) to make a call to a telephone number allocated to a corporate subscriber if that corporate subscriber has either told that business or organisation that they do not want to receive such calls or has registered with the Corporate TPS (CTPS) that they do not wish to receive such calls from any business or organisation. It is recommended that any mailing lists that you purchase/rent are cleaned via the CTPS file. Failure to do so could result in a fine and/or advers publicity. As responsible professionals, Direct Marketing companies don't want to upset potential customers/clients or waste time and money by faxing unwanted marketing material. |
