This database is built using a UK leading marketing statistics company using world class statistical techniques and the most advanced technological software.

Sunrise is a classification system that assigns one of 52 group codes to most UK postcodes. The code system uses the latest Census data, which is the most complete & comprehensive survey of the UK.

The code system is built from careful analysis of over 600 variables. These include information about where people live, how affluent or deprived they are & what 'life stage' they are in. It also includes data about housing, employment and education.

The Consumer Master File is continually updated through a number of activities;

1. A comprehensive and continuous telephone survey
2. The use of direct mail as a response to a range of specific questions.
3. By accessing the most recent electoral roll data and matching it back to recent utility billing data
4. Through the integration of other files to enhance and update the above

Complete with telephone numbers and with over 600 variables criteria this file represents a big step forward in the provision of accurate Consumer data. The Consumer Master File is now one of the UK’s largest and most unique consumer databases.

Delivery & Formats

How does Sunrise work?

AFFLUENCE

The first letter in a Sunrise code indicates the level of affluence as shown below.

A	Wealthy
B	Prosperous
C	Comfortable
D	Striving
E	Struggling
N	Not Classified

LIFE STAGE

The second letter indicates age and household make up

V	Young Singles
W	Young Families
X	Older Families
Y	Empty Nesters and Seniors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The last two letters highlight distinctive characteristics.
Where the proportion of a factor within a postcode is substantially larger than the proportion found within the UK as a whole.

EW44	Many purpose built flats, maisonettes or apartments
DW33	Hindus, Muslims often working in retail & transport industries
